CHELSEA EMERGE AS FAVORITE TO SIGN FREE AGENT BERNARD.

Reports suggest that Chelsea have emerged as favorites to sign Brazilian and former Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Bernard Duarte. Brazilian news outlet Globo Esporte have claimed that Chelsea are at the forefront in a host of clubs interested in securing a deal for Bernard this summer, as the Brazilian is currently a free agent having run down his contract at Shakhtar.

The 25-year old attacker had a relatively impressive outing for the Ukrainian club last term as he scored 10 goals in all competitions, which is his biggest tally ever since moving to Europe in 2013. However, it turned out to be his final season at the club as they were unwilling to meet his demands, subsequently resulting in him having to leave as a free agent.

He has reportedly attracted major interest from a host of top-flight clubs, with12 clubs already tendering their proposals for his signature, with the likes of Leicester City, West Ham, Wolfsburg and Palmeiras all being mentioned. However, it is Chelsea that has peaked his interest according to reports, and punters can take advantage of this with NetBet live betting odds.

Chelsea have been looking to bolster their present squad since the arrival of Italian tactician Maurizio Sarri, with the belief that the club are looking to improve on the flanks. Bernard has the ability to play on the flanks and through the middle and this is an added advantage, as he will be a welcome advantage as there is still a possibility that playmaker Eden Hazard might leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Reports suggest that the Blues have offered Bernard a lucrative contract which can attract his signature amid speculations that Chelsea is his preferred destination this summer. It might also be a good move for Chelsea considering that the player comes at no cost except the wages they’ll have to pay. It might also pay off as the player also had an impressive outing last term for Shakhtar Donetskt, and with uncertainty also surrounding Willian’s status at Stamford Bridge, a move for Bernard will definitely be a welcome addition.
